RECIPE OF THE MONTH TARTE TROPÉZIENNE
A tea time favourite after a long day brocanting, we simply adore Tarte Tropézienne, also known as 'La Tarte de Saint-Tropez', where it was first created: Brigitte Bardot returned to France following a visit to England and asked her Pâtissier to recreate a Victoria sponge cake! Giving it a French twist the result was a delicious cake consisting of a halved brioche filled with crème pâtissière and topped with pearl sugar. Our own local boulangerie in Cotignac creates a mouth watering version which we can't resist - equally this fantastic recipe keeps us going when we're feeling nostalgic back in Suffolk!
