Brown and Cream Glazed 19th Century Confit Pot

£85.00

A lovely brown and cream glazed 19th Century Confit Pot. ‘Confit’ is the French term for ‘preserve’ and they were used to preserve food before the days of modern fridges! Often demi-glazed (when they were buried in the earth!) or kept in a larder or cool store. This piece is particularly attractive due to it’s unusual rich warm-brown full exterior glaze with a contrasting cream interior. We love it’s signs of historic use which only add to it’s charm and the fact it could be used as a functional piece today - it’s interior glaze meaning it could be used as a flower vase - or simply as a delightful decorative piece in any modern rustic setting.

W - 27.5cm, H - 24cm, D - 22cm
