French 1830s Console Table
This stunning French console table dates from the reign of Louis-Phillipe in the 1830s and is both rare and beautiful. Originally designed to be the key focal point for an entrance or hallway in a Maison du maitre, the sculpted marble top sits firmly on the finely carved and gilded wooden base: this is a piece that would grace any room. In excellent overall condition, showing slight signs of age as expected with its history, there are minor chips and scuffs to the gilt wood and the edge of the marble top (see pictures) with historic signs of woodworm that have been professionally treated.
