French Empire Banc d'Attente - On hold
An absolutely glorious and completely original late 18th - early 19th Century French Napoleonic banc d’attente. This beautiful hardwood framed banquette retains its original green cotton velvet upholstery and horsehair stuffing. The rear panels remain in their original, un-upholstered condition as this piece would have been placed against a wall. Extremely comfortable and in truly excellent condition for its age.

An extremely rare piece and incredible to find in its original upholstery - our breath was literally taken away when we discovered this in a Marseille Chateau. There are minor marks to the upholstery and a small amount of historic woodworm holes that have been further treated to ensure no activity. This is a truly fantastic piece.
